Carpet Installation
We install wall-to-wall carpeting with precision, including proper subfloor preparation, padding installation, and power stretching the carpet for a smooth, wrinkle-free finish. Carpet adds warmth and comfort, especially in bedrooms and family rooms, and also provides sound insulation. We can recommend carpets with advanced stain-resistance and appropriate pile (plush, berber, frieze, etc.) for your needs. Our team handles complex patterns and seams such that the finished carpet looks seamless and perfectly fitted. We also manage disposal of old carpet and ensure subfloors are clean and level before new installation.
Vinyl & VCT Flooring
Vinyl sheet goods and VCT (Vinyl Composition Tile) are popular for high-traffic or utility areas like kitchens, laundry rooms, basements, and commercial spaces. They are cost-effective, water-resistant, and easy to maintain. United We Build’s installers will precisely cut and fit vinyl sheet flooring, making sure seams are minimal and edges are well-sealed. For VCT or luxury vinyl plank/tiles, we carefully layout the tiles or planks (considering pattern and direction) and use the correct adhesive and rolling techniques to ensure full adhesion with no bubbles. Once installed, VCT is typically waxed and buffed to a shine. These materials can mimic the look of more expensive stone or wood at a fraction of the cost, and our quality installation makes them look high-end.
Ceramic/Porcelain Tile & Stone
Tiled floors (or walls and backsplashes) add a touch of class and are extremely durable. We install all types of tile – ceramic, porcelain, natural stone like marble or slate – in bathrooms, kitchens, foyers, and more. Our tile work focuses on precision alignment and long-term performance. We lay out tiles to minimize awkward small cuts at edges, maintain consistent grout lines using spacers or leveling systems, and ensure the substrate is properly prepared (level and reinforced with cement board or uncoupling membrane to prevent cracks). We also use high-quality thinset mortars and grouts appropriate for the material (e.g. epoxy grout for stain resistance if desired). After installation, we seal stone tiles and grout lines as needed to preserve their appearance. The result is a stunning tiled surface that is water-resistant and easy to clean – ideal for wet areas or decorative accents. A well-done tile floor can last for decades and add to your home’s value.
Hardwood Floor Refinishing & Sealing
If you have existing hardwood floors that have lost their luster or have surface scratches, our refinishing services can restore them to like-new condition. We start by evaluating the thickness of the wood to ensure it can be sanded (most solid hardwood and some engineered floors can handle at least one refinishing). Our team will carefully sand the floors using professional dust-controlled sanders, removing old finish, surface stains, and minor dings, and smoothing out wear patterns. We then can stain the wood in a color of your choice or simply highlight its natural tone. Finally, we apply multiple coats of a durable clear finish (polyurethane in either oil-based or water-based formulations, or other specialized floor sealants) with proper drying time and buffing between coats. The end result is a beautifully refreshed floor with a protected surface that can handle daily traffic. Refinishing is far more cost-effective than replacing hardwood, and it can dramatically change the look of your home (for example, trending toward lighter “natural” wood tones or contemporary grays, versus older yellow or orange oak hues). We also offer hardwood repair and patching – weaving in new wood where walls were removed or fixing areas of rot – before refinishing, so the final floor looks seamless. For brand new hardwood installations or replacements, we handle that as well, from subfloor prep to nailing or gluing hardwood planks, and then finishing them. A properly sealed hardwood floor not only looks gorgeous but is easier to clean and less prone to moisture damage.
